माया

MAYA SABHA

In the Mahabharata, the divine architect Maya built a sabha so masterful that floor looked like water, and water looked like floor — illusion so complete it humbled emperors.
We build the same illusion, frame by frame: worlds so convincing, they stop feeling drawn and start feeling real.

三重県

MIE PREFECTURE · TSU CITY · THE SACRED HEARTLAND

The Bridge
Between Worlds

Our Japan partnership roots in Mie Prefecture — the sacred heartland of traditional Japanese culture. Tsu City, the prefectural capital, sits along the Pacific coast of Honshu, home to 280,000 people and centuries of samurai heritage dating back to the Edo period (1603–1868).

34.7303° N 136.5086° E 三重県 MIE, JP

40–60% production cost advantage. Japan co-production access. Cultural authenticity baked into every frame. Near the sacred Ise Shrine — one of Japan's holiest sites. This is not outsourcing — this is fusion at the highest level.

Where India's 5,000-year storytelling tradition collides with Japan's century-old animation mastery, something unprecedented is forged. The Kumano Kodo ancient pilgrimage routes run through this very region — a land that has always been a bridge between worlds.

Castle Town Legacy

Tsu became a powerful castle town in the Edo period (1603–1868), home to samurai warriors and feudal lords. The city's 800+ year history is written into every stone, temple, and festival tradition.

Pacific Coastline

Situated along the Ise Bay and Pacific Ocean, Tsu's coastal identity deeply informs Japanese visual culture. The sea appears in countless anime — a symbol of both boundary and possibility.

Ise Grand Shrine

Proximity to Ise Jingu — the most sacred Shinto shrine in Japan — gives Mie its spiritual gravity. The divine connection between nature, craft, and story is the air Mad Sensei breathes.

Tsu Matsuri Festival

Every October, the streets fill with traditional music, dance, and parades. This living animation — the movement of costumed bodies through ancient streets — is the original anime, predating film itself.

Kumano Sacred Paths

The UNESCO-listed Kumano Kodo pilgrimage routes pass through Mie — ancient forest paths walked by emperors and pilgrims for over 1,000 years. The original quest narrative, written in stone and cedar.

The India Bridge

Mad Sensei's Mie partnership creates a cultural bridge between two great storytelling civilizations. 40–60% cost advantage. 100% creative ambition. The world's next great animation axis.

Japan's Animation History

A century of craft. The tradition Mad Sensei carries forward.

The Birth
Three Fathers of Anime

Ōten Shimokawa, Junichi Kōuchi, and Seitaro Kitayama — three artists who, in a single year, launched an entire art form. The earliest films were drawn with chalk on a board, erased and redrawn frame by frame.

Catastrophe
Great Kanto Earthquake

The earthquake destroyed countless animation studios and irreplaceable early films. Most of Japan's animation heritage from this era was lost. What survived defines how resilient the art form truly is.

First Feature-Length Anime

Momotaro: Sacred Sailors (1945) — Japan's first full-length animated feature, made during wartime. Animation was used as propaganda, but the technical skill and emotional depth were undeniable milestones.

The 1980s — Peak of Creation

Brief

What makes Mad Sensei different from other Indian animation studios?
We don't do service animation. We build original IP designed for global ownership. While others render for Hollywood, we're writing the stories Hollywood will want to adapt. Our Mie Prefecture partnership gives us Japanese cultural authenticity at 40–60% below Japanese-only production costs.
What's the revenue model?
Six streams: OTT licensing, Webtoon platform revenue share, merchandise IP licensing, B2B co-production fees, patron memberships, and game licensing. The IP compounds in value as the universe expands — every new story raises the floor.
What's your current traction?
7M+ organic views. 127 chapters published across 4 IPs. All without a marketing budget — pure content pull. The flywheel is turning. Investment doesn't start it; it accelerates what's already moving.
Why Japan? Why Mie specifically?
Mie Prefecture operates at regional cost structures while adjacent to Japan's creative hubs. Proximity to the Ise Grand Shrine gives our work cultural depth that can't be manufactured. Our local partner relationships open doors to authentic co-production — not outsourcing, but fusion.
What does investment enable?
Studio infrastructure buildout. Full animation pipeline for Tamashii Season 1. VA recording suites. Japan liaison office in Mie. Merchandise development. The difference between a studio that makes chapters and a studio that makes history.
Who are you pitching to?
OTT platforms seeking original IP (not just service content), IP development funds in Japan and India, angel investors who understand the entertainment landscape, and global studios looking for authentic Indo-Japanese co-production. We're selective. So are we.
